Will Davey was/is a real fellow in my life, who died of a brain
tumor in November 2000. The song was written at least 20 years before
that,
so I change the original name to Honor David. May he be blessed among
those who loved him...

Will Davey don't live on the street anymore
He found an open door and he's gone
Will Davey don't live on the street anymore
He found an open door and he's gone
Somebody gave him the key
He set himself free
And he's walking in a golden dawn
How many times have you been
Just where you thought you ought to be?
How many times have you been
Just where you thought you ought to be?
How often do we turn and turn
Only to learn
That we still don't see?
We keep on keepin' on 'til we find
Each other face to face
We keep on keepin' on 'til we find
Each other face to face
We all get put to the test
Nobody ever gets no rest
Until everybody's got ample parking space
Will Davey don't live on the street anymore
He found an open door and he's gone
Will Davey don't live on the street anymore
He found an open door and he's gone
Somebody gave him the key
He set himself free
And he's walking in a golden dawn
This takes you back to my Houselessness page:
Home is where the Heart
is.
