on broadway

take a little walk with me...

Here we have a stroll along Eugene, Oregon's "artsy" Broadway, which is 9th Avenue, and the North/South street address divider...the pictures were taken fairly late in the day...the numbered streets begin north of the train depot, and run into hills on the south end of Eugene...

A few blocks north of Broadway is the government complex of buildings area...city hall, Lane County building, the County Courthouse, Senator Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza, and the Federal Building...

lookit da

thinga-ma-bob!!!

The corner where the three jamming turtles are was my favorite place to sit and play my busking4freedom songs...it's a downtown banking district during the weekdays, and is a thru-put entrance for the two block park where the farmers' market, arts & crafts fair, and free music stage are conducted on Saturdays...I'd love to make a video, or a write a scene for a movie where a competition is held to come up with the kind of music they're playing on those 3 instruments...any ideas? LOL!!!

A block or two further west finds us in the plaza at the so-called HEART Of TOWN...people use the platform on which Kesey and the family sit as a spot to rest up...there's a small low stage in the opposite corner of the plaza...each corner of the intersection has a sculpture that's different, as wild as the "doohickey" you see above on the right...another Broadway & Willamette...photo.
