Missoula, Montana

Monday, August 28, 2006, was a busy travel day, occupied with leaving Kalispell, and travelling on westward from Missoula. I did discover the distance from the bus depot to Higgins was walkable, even with a back pack and guitar gig bag on a hot day...Found the library fairly easily, where i was able to put together a short entry about the outing I had with my 2 hosts up to the summit of Big Mountain, north of Whitefish, MT...this was my first ski lift ride, in an open chair with my friends - no less...exhilarating, to say the least!

It is part of the beauty of the Internet experience and the spread of the freedom of information it has fostered, that a creative writer, in touch with numerous folks through forums and web sites can record happenings so freely...

For the coffee loving traveller, I recommend Liquid Planet, on Higgins around the corner from Broadway as a good place to take a break...comfy upholstered chaired, wireless internet access...good pastries...I walked a few blocks further on Higgins and found a park with a pavillion, and a nice wall for me to sit upon, and play guitar, sing and watch whatever river passes through Missoula...flow...

After loosening my fingers up with some blues jams, I played my own Keep It Steady, another composition of my own called Coming Down The Wind, and one song I truly love to play, Bob Dylan's Mr. Tamborine Man... What a great way to pass the time...soon enough, I was walking back to the bus depot, arriving just in time to find the agent opening the place up for the evenings arrivals and departures...then, back on the "DOG" again...
